Lycee Overture — Frequently Asked Questions
What is Lycee Overture?
Lycee Overture is a Japanese trading card game published by Movic. Launched in 2016 as a reboot of the original Lycee TCG, it brings characters from dozens of visual novel and anime brands — including Fate, Da Capo, and Grisaia — onto one shared card platform, with official artwork and foil finishes printed in Japan.
How do you play Lycee Overture?
Each Lycee Overture deck is built from exactly 60 cards across five elements — Snow, Moon, Flower, Space, and Sun. Characters battle in a front-row/back-row formation: an attacking character faces a defender in the same column, while adjacent characters can lend Support to boost a battling character's stats. A player loses when their deck runs out of cards.
Who publishes Lycee Overture cards?
Lycee Overture is published by Movic. Individual sets are licensed per visual novel brand or publisher — including Nexton, Yuzusoft, August, AliceSoft, Purple software, and HOOKSOFT — with each brand getting its own numbered set as new games release, such as Nexton 1.0 through Nexton 4.0.
How many Lycee Overture card sets are there?
My Waifu Cards tracks over 80 Lycee Overture sets spanning more than 6,600 cards, covering visual novel brands like Fate/Grand Order, Girls und Panzer, and Toaru Majutsu no Index. Browse the full Lycee Overture card list below.
Is Lycee Overture the same as Weiss Schwarz?
No. Lycee Overture and Weiss Schwarz are separate Japanese trading card games that both license anime and visual novel characters, but Lycee Overture is published by Movic with its own pair-battle rules, while Weiss Schwarz is published by Bushiroad.
